You should now have a fully functioning access point, both lan and wireless working perfectly with DHCP assigned from the main router! Now turn off, connect any lan clients and turn on the router and your done! Thats it! Under service list only INTERNET needs to be checked and submit those settings Go to Basic/Wan and change the Connection type to Bridge, tick the DHCP transparent transmission box and also tick LAN1 LAN2 LAN3 LAN4 SSID1 SSID2 SSID3 and SSID4. Go into Basic/Lan again and Disable the DHCP Server by unticking the Enable box Now go to Basic/Lan and in the top host settings change the ip address to 192.168.2.1 and click submitĭisconnect the ethernet cable from the pc/laptop for a few seconds and then reconnect it as it needs to reset the ip and at this point connect an ethernet cable from any lan of the main router to the wan on the HG533 and now relogon to the router but now its at 192.168.2.1 In your browser go to: 192.168.1.1 and go straight into the advanced settings, if you want to change the username/pass for logging into the router quickly do that now in Maintenance/Account Push and hold in the reset button on the back of the router for atleast 15 seconds so we can make sure all settings are reset so we can start from scratch Make sure the pc/laptop is set to obtain an ip address automatically Now disconnect everything from your router and connect a pc/laptop to the router by ethernet in any lan port. So heres a quick How To so anyone that wants to do the same can get theres working too!įirst of all I used firmware version v1.15t on my HG533 and so must advise you update to this first to make sure all the same options appear So after a couple of hours of playing I finally got it working 100%! DHCP is provided by my main router and I'm able to use lan and wlan including IGMP/Multicast without issues! So just recently tried setting up my HG533 as a secondary router/access point turning off DHCP as I want my main router only to provide DHCP leases and found I couldn't get it to work and found that when I searched there was not really any help as to how to get it working 100%
